The Members of the Chartered Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineering are committed to and choose to be governed by a Code of Professional Standards. Any prospective member is vetted before joining the Chartered Institute, so the public have confidence that they are using someone with the correct skills and commitment to these high standards. SW11 Plumbers are professionals. The Chartered Institute’s Disciplinary Committee administer the Code and if a complaint is made regarding a member, has the authority to remove that person’s member status. Inspectors for standards inspect member’s work or investigate complaints if the committee insists. Displayed CIPHE logos identify someone who is competent, responsible and professionally dedicated. Below are the broad requirements of members:Work or supervise the work of others to ensure technical quality, correct insurance cover. The interests of employers, workers and customers. Take care to avoid damage to the environment or creating any danger of death, injury or ill-health to anyone or anything. Battersea Plumbers work to the regulations.Carry out work to the appropriate European and British Standards Codes of Practice. For Fellows and Members, registered with the ECUK, also conforming to that Council’s Codes of Professional Practice.Follow developments in the plumbing mechanical engineering services industry by attending and participating in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and all relevant training courses.Behave in a way that will not cause offence or embarrassment to anyone. To keep the Institute’s good name and that of the industry, members in the course of their work should act professionally.Be responsible as a member and comply and help the Institute in the enforcement of its disciplinary rules and any investigation that may occur.
